Buckler’s Mead is an ambitious school on the rise. Following a hugely successful summer where the Academy recorded the best results in its history we are now looking to recruit to key positions to continue this exceptional school improvement journey. This is an exciting opportunity for an established teacher, or someone new to the profession to join us in the next phase of our development and get fully involved in all aspects of academy life.
We seek to significantly invest in developing all of our staff. We often identify ambitious teachers with potential, developing them in their roles in order to take on leadership positions. This has been strengthened by our work with Trust partners. If you are ambitious and would like the chance to teach in a rapidly improving school and wish to develop into leadership, this may be the ideal post for you.
Modern Foreign Languages is a highly regarded subject on the curriculum by staff and students. Over recent years, the subject has grown in popularity in KS4, resulting in the majority of students opting for a language as part of their GCSE choices. The department has also developed strong links with our Trust partners to develop the quality of MFL in the school. Moving forward, we would like to expand this further, offering more trips and opportunities to experience European countries, cultures and languages. We would also like to explore offering other languages as part of our curriculum offer.
Please note that we may carry out online searches on shortlisted candidates as part of our Safer Recruitment and Due Diligence checks. Buckler’s Mead Academy is an equal opportunities employer. The campus is a no smoking site.
Buckler's Mead is committed to safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children.
We have a duty of care and the right to take reasonable action, ensuring the welfare and safety of pupils. If staff have cause for concern that a child is subject to any form of abuse, we will follow child protection procedures and inform Children’s Services.
Buckler’s Mead meets statutory requirements relating to Disclosure & Barring Service – all staff and volunteers who work with Buckler’s Mead Academy who meet the ‘regulated activity test’ (Freedoms Act 2012) are required to undergo an enhanced DBS check prior to employment.
