Hitchin Boys’ School (HBS) is an outstanding and over-subscribed comprehensive school with a mixed sixth form, which forms part of the highly successful Hitchin Schools’ Consortium. Located in the historic and picturesque market town of Hitchin in North Hertfordshire it is conveniently located 25 minutes from London by train and close to the A1(M) and M1.
We are now seeking an enthusiastic and able Teacher of Spanish and French (KS3-4) to join our successful MFL department on a temporary contract from January to July 2025.
Our students are taught French in Year 7 and are offered the chance to study either Spanish or German in Year 8. All boys then choose a language to take to GCSE. There is the possibility to teach all 3 languages at A level. The MFL department comprises six well-resourced specialist language rooms, each with its own high quality listening facilities and interactive whiteboard.
The successful candidate will have a passion for language learning and the ability to motivate all students and bring new ideas as the school builds on its excellent status. The appointment would suit an experienced teacher or an ECT looking to join a high performing school to gain experience to further enhance their career.
