What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking to recruit a MFL teacher who can help our students aim higher, achieve and enjoy the subject as much as possible. Appointed to the trust in the first instance, there are opportunities across our secondary academies including Shelley College, Thornhill Community Academy, Whitcliffe Mount School and Royds Hall Academy.

All our MFL teams are thriving with experienced, hardworking and dedicated teachers who share best practice and resources so that every student across the trust can access the very best learning opportunities.

For trainee teachers, we offer support second to none, with a dedicated mentor, reduced teaching timetable and Early Careers Framework (ECT) training from the Teaching School Hub. For established teachers considering middle leadership, we offer a fast-track training programme with a guaranteed interview opportunity for a middle leadership position within the trust as it arises.

The ideal candidate will:-

  • be educated to degree level with (or working towards) QTS and display a natural passion for MFL;
  • be able to impart knowledge to young people to engage and excite them in their learning;
  • be able to develop, plan and deliver effective and consistently good lessons;
  • love encouraging, motivating and inspiring young people through the support they give in order to encourage their learning;
  • have great references demonstrating they are a suitable candidate, safe to work with children.
