An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint a dynamic and enthusiastic practitioner to join our Modern Foreign Languages Faculty as teacher of Spanish from September 2022. We would expect the successful candidate to be able to teach their first langue to at least GCSE and the second one to Key Stage 3. This appointment is suitable for Newly Qualified Teachers or an experienced teacher.
We offer a full range of languages including French, German and Spanish and all three are popular at Key Stage 5. The successful candidate will have a commitment to the development of creative, engaging teaching and learning across the age and ability range. As a school we promote the EBAC and the study of an MFL for the majority of our students with entry varying between 60 and 75% at GCSE – and we have ambitions to be even higher. We also have a very high number of students with EAL and promote actively entry in their home language, e.g. Arabic, Polish, Romanian and many others. Our GCSE examination results have been on a steady trajectory of improvement over the last three years but we want to improve even more! A Level results are outstanding. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a thriving faculty with a strong supportive team of teachers, some with extensive experience.
