Teacher of Modern Foreign Languages job summary
We are committed to delivering an education that provides students with the relevant skills and experiences to prepare them for further education and the world of work, but also to develop their character to become fully fledged members of society.
We are looking to appoint a dedicated and committed teacher of Spanish, with some French or German, to join our successful and forward-thinking Modern Languages Faculty. This represents an excellent opportunity for someone who can teach Spanish to KS5, with French or German to KS3. The successful candidate will be a well-qualified graduate with a love of their subject and with the ability to work effectively both in a team and independently. We are looking to appoint a colleague who will maximise the best outcomes for our students, who has high expectations and who can inspire Nobelians. ECTs are welcome to apply, and we will be happy to discuss the support we can offer you as you continue your professional development.
Our excellent MFL faculty offers French, German and Spanish to A-Level. We have had students receive Oxbridge offers in each of the last three years in MFL and are placed in the top 6% in the country for languages according to 2023 GCSE attainment.
Furthermore, our lovely school has made tremendous progress in recent years. At KS4 our students’ make excellent progress, above that of other schools nationally. Performance in English and maths are above national trends. The school has made excellent progress in Ebacc subjects as well as our other option subjects. In addition, the school has made significant improvements for vulnerable groups. KS5 outcomes have been consistently strong with our Alps three-year T-score being 3 for both A Level and Vocational. The size of The Nobel School Sixth Form has increased year on year, with students achieving fantastic results and progressing into further education. Each year we have students placed at Oxford or Cambridge, into medicine degrees and many other destinations or careers.
