What skills and experience we're looking for
King Edward VI School Lichfield is seeking an enthusiastic and talented teacher to join our Modern Foreign Languages team. We are looking for a teacher with enthusiasm for their subject, excellent communication skills with an ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with students, colleagues and parents. We have the flexibility to recruit either a full-time or a part-time teacher who can offer French and/or German. The ability to teach at least GCSE level is essential. This post is temporary to cover maternity leave and at this stage it is anticipated to run until 19 July 2024.
Learning a language is a core skill at King Edward VI School and our team of experienced teachers work hard to ensure that students benefit from a dynamic curriculum, high expectations and structured support. Our students learn French and German from Year 7 onwards, specialising further in Year 9 and with provision for students to study one or both languages to GCSE and A Level. Approximately 75% of our students take a language at GCSE; in 2022 92% of French and German grades were at 4+ and 72% of grades at 5+ at GCSE level.
