We are seeking to appoint an exceptional Teacher of Modern Foreign Languages to join our team on a permanent basis, with additional, temporary Key Stage responsibilities to cover maternity leave. The appointed teacher must be able to teach French and Spanish at KS3, and either French or Spanish at KS4 and KS5. They will have a proven track record of outstanding teaching. The Key Stage Co‑ordinator plays an integral role in driving forward the MFL team and enabling all learners to achieve their full potential.

Our faculty is experienced, collaborative, and high‑performing. We have developed a broad and balanced curriculum that excites learners, and languages remain very popular amongst students. Uptake at GCSE in both French and Spanish has been consistently strong, with exceptional outcomes achieved over a number of years. In summer 2023, 2024, and 2025, GCSE results placed the subjects in FFT5 for attainment and progress across nearly all measures.

We are looking for a teacher who is passionate about MFL and current developments within the subject, with working knowledge of the new GCSE. They will be able to plan and deliver engaging lessons that stimulate learners and set appropriate levels of challenge for all abilities.

The successful applicant will work alongside the Curriculum Team Leader and will oversee Key Stage provision on a maternity cover basis, with responsibilities including:

Implementing and developing Schemes of Learning in French and Spanish, and tailoring assessments to meet the needs of all learners

Monitoring and tracking individual progress, and leading targeted intervention to ensure students achieve their potential

Supporting the CTL in fostering a culture of high aspirations and promoting the school’s vision

Assisting the CTL with quality assurance procedures, including appraisal reviews and observations

Previous school leadership experience is desirable, though not essential.
