What skills and experience we're looking for
A good degree (preferably in Spanish)
Qualified Teacher Status.
A commitment to continuing professional development activities.
Experience of successfully teaching Spanish across KS3 and KS4
Experience of achieving excellent outcomes with exam groups
Teaching and Assessment
Ability to plan purposeful lessons that impart a deep rich understanding of Spanish.
Effective use of Assessment for Learning within lessons
Strong mathematical subject knowledge, evidenced through explanations and questioning.
Ability to motivate, engage and enthuse learners.
Student Learning and Progress
An understanding of the importance of good planning in relation to student progress.
To keep accurate, precise and relevant records of student achievement.
Have a good knowledge and understanding of current educational thinking in T&L and MFL
Wider Professional Effectiveness
To comply with Academy routines and protocols as written and intended.
To communicate effectively and willingly with all Academy stakeholders.
To demonstrate awareness of the need to promote and protect the Academy’s profile and reputation.
A willingness to be involved in extra-curricular activities.

Salford City Academy is seeking an outstanding teacher to join an ambitious, creative, and forward-looking MFL department. The MFL department comprises three full time members of staff including the Head of Department and we offer Spanish. We are looking for someone who has the drive and ambition to help drive standards and improve results.
The MFL Department is an extremely ambitious department, expansion within the school has allowed the department to grow rapidly. The department is wholly committed to a research-informed approach to teaching, learning and assessment. We have recently implemented the EPI approach and staff have received CPD to embed the approach in to lessons. You will reap the benefits of a purposefully sequenced curriculum and centralised departmental resources. As a United Learning school, the department also benefits from support from a team of dedicated subject advisors and strong collaboration between other United Learning schools.
