We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed teacher of Music who is keen to develop into an outstanding teacher and make a significant contribution to the extra-curricular life of the school.

Role
This role represents an exciting opportunity to help shape the future direction of Music at Archbishop’s. Students at Archbishop’s enjoy music and benefit from state-of-the-art facilities including a Mac suite and a fully equipped recording studio. Music is a popular subject at GCSE and Post 16. Music is also central to the wider life of the school, not least in our Christmas Carol Service held in York Minster each year with over 1000 guests. School Shows, Music Concerts and Easter Services all rely on high quality music provision which is always excellent. There are also a dozen instrumental/vocal specialists who teach individual or group lessons on a weekly basis. There are a number of extra-curricular music clubs running weekly including Orchestra, Jazz Band, Soul Band, Junior choir, Senior choir, Staff choir, music technology club and rehearsals for our annual school shows.
Specific to this Role
- We are looking for a colleague who is keen to develop into an outstanding teacher who will also make a significant contribution to the extra-curricular life of the school.
- The successful candidate will be innovative and enthusiastic and committed to being part of our music department.
- The successful candidate should have passion for the subject and a thorough knowledge of Music and will teach across KS3 and KS4.
- The successful candidate should ideally have some experience of using music software such as Sibelius and/or Garageband.
- We are very proud of the extra-curricular provision at Archbishop Holgate’s and a commitment to playing a supporting role in the school Services, shows and concerts is absolutely essential.
- The successful candidate will play a part in curriculum development within the department and will support the Head of Department in this area.
