Job description

Carry out the professional duties of a school teacher, as set out in the current School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions Document (STPCD).

To be accountable for the raising of student attainment, their achievement and progress in Music across a range of subjects and key stages, in the relevant classes.

To develop an exciting, challenging and relevant learning experience for all students.

To be accountable for promoting and safeguarding students’ welfare and personal development as part of a faculty and whole school approach.

Essential educational requirements

Qualified Teacher Status and a track record as a consistently good or outstanding practitioner
Evidence of your PGCE Qualifications
GCSE O’levels in Maths and English
MA or working towards

Essential skills and experience

Evidence of sustained impact on pupils’ achievement, both through your own teaching and through support for others.
Excellent professional knowledge and understanding, including of recent developments in the curriculum, and of a range of pedagogical approaches to raise attainment
Accomplished musician on first study instrument and on-going personal commitment to participating in music performance and/or study.
First or second study string player
Experience of working with choirs and willingness to lead on developing a departmental vocal strategy.
An understanding of the importance of and a willingness to participate in extra-curricular and study support activities.
Sound working knowledge of Sibelius and Logic Pro X
