Burford School is a highly successful 11-18 rural comprehensive school with Academy status. Established in 1571, we currently have around 1400 students on roll with a strong Sixth Form of over 200 students. Situated high above the town of Burford, on the eastern edge of the Cotswolds, the school includes a Boarding House with just under 100 boarders from both the UK and abroad.
We serve a widespread rural community and close links are maintained with our nine partner Primary Schools which provide two thirds of our annual intake of approximately 200 students. Some students travel considerable distances from beyond our catchment area, to take up places at the school due to its excellent reputation for academic success, extra-curricular activities and pastoral care, and the growing Sixth Form attracts new members each year. Our aim is to recruit colleagues who will be stimulated by the prospect of working hard to share in our success.
