About the Role:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher of Music/Performing Arts to join our growing team at Edgar Wood Academy. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic individual with a strong subject knowledge and a commitment to helping students realise their academic potential. The successful candidate will teach Maths to students aged 11-16 and will contribute to our students' learning through creative and engaging teaching strategies.
This position is ideal for both experienced teachers and early career teachers who are looking to develop their practice in a supportive and innovative environment. As a new and expanding school, currently with students in Years 7, 8, 9 and 10 Edgar Wood Academy offers an excellent opportunity to shape the future of our school community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach Music/Performing Arts to KS3 and KS4 students, using a variety of engaging teaching strategies.
- Ensure lessons are differentiated to meet the needs of individual students, including those with special educational needs.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes equality and celebrates diversity.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to plan lessons, schemes of work, and assessment strategies that support student progress.
- Support the school’s ethos of high expectations and a “can-do” culture, motivating students to achieve their best.
- Contribute to the broader life of the school, including extra-curricular activities.
About You:
You will be an enthusiastic and reflective practitioner, dedicated to developing your skills and inspiring students to love learning Maths. You will work well as part of a team and demonstrate a commitment to the school’s values and aspirations.
