Teacher of Music job summary
Sir John Deane’s Sixth Form College is looking to recruit an enthusiastic teacher of Music. The ideal candidate will be a hardworking and enthusiastic teaching professional with a strong academic background in Music and excellent subject knowledge. Candidates must also be able to demonstrate a passion for teaching, a commitment to ensuring the highest standards of achievement for all students and have an impressive track record of results. The College particularly values the experience and knowledge teachers can bring from a secondary school environment. We welcome applications from newly qualified teachers and teachers with experience. A full NQT programme is offered in the same way as schools: this means you will be fully qualified to advance your future career.
In addition to the role of teacher of music there is also the opportunity for the successful candidate to perform the role of College Director of Music. This position includes organising and managing a programme of outstanding performances, coordinating singing in College musicals and leading a vibrant and varied co-curricular music programme, including College choirs. The hours of work for this role are 10 hours per week term time only with an actual salary of £6,209 per annum.
