Are you an enthusiastic and inspiring teacher looking for a warm, welcoming and supportive place to work? We invite you to take look at St Edward’s Royal Free Ecumenical Middle School.

For boys and girls aged between nine and 13, we offer a happy and exciting environment. A school where children develop a strong sense of self-worth and excellent learning habits in class, so they are able to grow spiritually and become confident learners well-prepared for the next stage of their education.

For ambitious teachers, we also offer the opportunity to grow – both professionally and personally. Your ongoing training and development is a key priority here, and we’ll support you in every way we can to help you achieve your career goals. As well as that, you can look forward to a refreshingly collaborative culture. We’re all striving to achieve the same goals after all, so we all work together, sharing ideas and helping each other in an atmosphere of mutual respect and trust.

We’re proud of our school history and its unique status as an Ecumenical Middle School that’s supported by the Dioceses of Portsmouth and Oxford. In 2005 we celebrated 300 years of the Royal Free Trust where it all began at St. George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle. Although the school aims to follow Christian values, we celebrate the traditions and beliefs of all faiths – and learn the importance of helping and respecting others.

Our attractive site in the lovely historic town of Windsor includes purpose-built specialist teaching spaces for a range of different curriculum subjects. Our music suite, computing area and performance space have all been recently completed, and our sports hall and science laboratories are modern and well-equipped.

Finally, here are a few words from our last full Ofsted report. We think this sums up perfectly what the school is all about. If it sounds like the kind of environment where you would thrive, do get in touch:

“The school is popular and highly regarded by the overwhelming majority of parents and carers, who appreciate the information they receive about their children’s progress. One parent or carer summed up the school accurately as having a ‘strong academic ethos within a fun, caring and nurturing environment’. Pupils’ behaviour is exemplary in lessons and around the school. Pupils enjoy school and their attendance is very good. The quality of teaching is good. Teachers have good subject knowledge and are enthusiastic. Relationships are very positive and help to promote an atmosphere in which pupils are keen to learn and happy to answer and ask questions.”
