What skills and experience we're looking for
We are seeking an outstanding Music teacher with a proven track record of success and raising pupil outcomes to join our growing Performing Arts Department. The successful candidate will have the ability to deliver quality-first teaching, that drives achievement and inspires a love of learning. You will be able to demonstrate experience of achieving positive outcomes for pupils, as well as being passionate about making a difference to the lives of young people. As a committed team player, you will have excellent organisational skills and the natural ability to motivate both pupils and peers.
This is a new post in the established, well-resourced Music department which delivers a wide variety of extra-curricular activities such as Band, Choir, Music Tech clubs, and Musical Theatre performances. Academic music lessons take place in the music department building which is equipped with new music computers loaded with Cubase and multiple class sets of instruments, and student practice rooms. GCSE, peripatetic and extra-curricular uptake is growing with students seeking more and broader high-quality musical experiences.Are you a team player and passionate about education and

What the school offers its staff
Highcrest offers both an excellent induction and support programme for ECTs and an innovative and extensive CPD package for more experienced teachers. This provision of training has been praised as outstanding by an external assessor and highlighted in the local press. For ECTs, we provide weekly CPD meetings with experienced members of staff, time-tabled and protected Mentor Meetings on a weekly basis, subject knowledge time with departments and an extensive personalised CPD plan.

Some of our students need all your support, whilst others need to be challenged and stretched. Our inclusive and successful House system, a wide range of clubs, visits and trips helps to bring our whole school community together.
There are approximately 1,000 students on roll, including the Sixth Form. Recent additions to our site include a gym and restaurant/coffee shop for both staff and students, as well as a purpose-built Sixth Form Centre.
