Are you passionate about inclusion and committed to meeting the needs of all children?

Do you have the ability to engage, motivate and promote the learning and personal development of pupils?

Are you passionate about your subject and excited by teaching IT?

It is a very exciting time to join Beacon Academy, which in September moves into a brand new multi-million pound building. The building is handed over to the Academy in the summer and staff will have the opportunity to work in that new building with the most up to date facilities from September.

The academy is part of Wellspring Academy Trust, which was recently awarded the title of ‘Multi Academy Trust of the year.’ The Trust and school have a reputation for having a relational approach to education whilst also having high standards and expectations. The values of the Trust are matched by the school. ‘We make a difference.’ If you share this philosophy, this may be the job for you.

Details of Wellspring Academy Trust can be found at: https://wellspringacademytrust.co.uk/

The academy offers an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and enthusiastic person to join our team at Beacon Academy as a Teacher of IT. We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, innovative, and committed teacher with high expectations of students and themselves. The successful candidate will be capable of inspiring students of all abilities through their passion for the subject. We are offering IT at KS3 and KS4, and we are looking for someone keen to create IT lessons that are exciting and engaging to encourage all students to achieve their best.

You will work as part of a wider, proven, and successful faculty in the school, and you will be well supported by the Head of Faculty and TLR holders. Wellspring Academy Trust and Beacon Academy believe in investing in our staff. We have a strong CPD offer, and all new staff will receive a supportive induction programme; this post may be of interest to an ECT.

If you are driven to ensure the highest possible standards of teaching and learning, progress, and achievement, then we warmly invite you to apply and join our convivial team.

We are a small school and so it is possible to develop strong relationships. To support this, we are introducing a new coaching group approach for staff and students in September. Our students are enthusiastic and enjoy interactive lessons from passionate teachers; they respond well to strong, trusting relationships with staff. Having recently appointed new leaders at the Academy, Beacon Academy has a renewed focus on student development, both academically and in personal growth. We are about to embark on new and innovative strategies in school, so this would be an exciting time to join the team.

We encourage any applicant to come and visit the school or to book an informal phone conversation about this role with a member of the leadership team. Please feel free to contact the PA to the Principal, OliviaSakseide on o.sakseide@beaconacademy.co.uk to arrange a suitable time.

If you are as excited by this challenge as we are and you think this might be the role for you, please apply, having taken note of the attachments, by Friday 20th June.

Interviews for successfully shortlisted candidates will be undertaken soon after this date.

The School has adopted the principles of Safer Recruitment and will safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to do the same. Successful applicants will be required to undertake an enhanced criminal records check via the Disclosure and Barring Service. Beacon Academy is an Equal Opportunities Employer

Beacon Academy opened on 1 September 2017 as part of the Wellspring Academy Trust. We are an exciting, expanding, inclusive and dynamic secondary academy which places the student at the heart of our provision.

Our distinctive ethos of ‘Human Scale Education’ sets us apart from other schools. At Beacon Academy your child will be known as an individual, supported and provided with opportunities to achieve academically and to develop as a young person.

Within our distinctive ethos we provide your child with opportunities, interventions and watch them thrive. We will continue to build upon solid foundations as an academy rated ‘Good’ by OFSTED. Regional champions in sports, poetry, photography and performing arts are just some examples of how your child will develop those crucial ‘soft skills’ needed to flourish in an ever changing world.

Parents are choosing Beacon Academy with the knowledge that not only is their child known as an individual and supported but academic progress is also at the heart of our provision.

Ultimately our students will leave as fully rounded young people, who in addition to their qualifications and references can present portfolios evidencing wider skills. This can range from building a rocket car to being an award winning member of a stage crew. Beacon Academy students, like the school itself, will have a Unique Selling point which makes them stand out from the crowd.
