Teacher of PE and School Games Organiser job summary
Ellowes Hall Sports College is looking to appoint an experienced, enthusiastic and highly motivated Physical Education (PE) teacher who can successfully fulfil the role and responsibilities of the School Games Organiser (refer to job description) as well as teaching primary PE and where appropriate mentoring primary teachers. Key focuses of this combined role: • Encourage schools to engage in inter school competitions offered through the School Games • Support schools to develop intra competitions as part of the School Games competition pathway • Increase opportunities for all young people to engage in appropriate physical activities • Support schools and individual teachers to achieve high quality outcomes for young people through PE and school sport • Use PE and sport as a catalyst for whole school improvement • Encourage and support schools to provide a broad, rich and engaging PE curriculum and School Sport programme. • Assist schools to review and update schemes of work in line with national curriculum. • Assist staff to develop confidence and competence by modelling good practice and acting as a mentor to improve the quality of PESupporting documents
