TEACHER OF PE job summary
In this rapidly expanding 'Good' school, we are looking for an experienced and inspirational specialist to join our Physical Education department.
This is not a job for the faint-hearted as we drive towards becoming an 'Outstanding' school.
The successful applicant will have a passion about learning, have strong inter-personal skills, be resilient, be an excellent teacher and have great subject knowledge. They will be able to deliver PE up to KS4 and there may be opportunities to teach at KS5. The successful candidate will be expected to run after school activities as part of our Extended Schools offer, supporting students across the ability range ranging from improving basic fitness to competing in local fixtures.

We are a highly supportive school with strong subject and senior leadership to help you develop. We are looking for a highly ambitious, committed and dynamic professional to join our Physical Education department who is passionate about their subject, communicates well with young people and makes a positive impact on their learning. The Physical Education department comprises of 1 part-time and 5 full-time teachers, including a Curriculum Leader. The job would suit a more experienced teacher or an NQT and will continue the growth of the department which offers a Level 1/2 Technical Award in Health and Fitness alongside GCSE PE in Key Stage 4 as well as Sports Studies in the Sixth Form.
Physical Education is at the heart of the AVA Curriculum with state of the art facilities including a fully resourced 3G football pitch and an Astroturf hockey pitch under floodlights as well as a MUGA, extensive fields and a well-resourced gym. The continued expansion of the school will also provide further opportunities for professional development.
