We are looking for a passionate and motivated PE specialist to join our vibrant Arts, Performance and Technology Faculty.
PE is an integral part of our faculty with the subject taught as a distinct subject. Students enjoy a range of activities including Football, Netball, Badminton, Table Tennis, Rounders, Athletics and Gymnastics. It is a popular subject at GCSE with many students going on to study the subject at A level as part of our shared sixth form, JMF6. The PE department regularly take part in fixtures across the county, and run clubs after school and at lunchtime to encourage wider participation across the school. We have a fitness suite facility on site which is used by students in lessons, and by staff outside the working day. There is also a gym, sports hall, outdoor courts and sports pitches. Student participation and engagement is high, with enthusiasm and interest in physical education from year 7 through to KS5. The Arts, Performance and Technology Faculty has a well-established working relationship with other schools within the Abingdon Learning Trust, alongside other local schools. This enables students to access a wide range of facilities and opportunities, this includes meeting international rugby players and using swimming facilities and athletics tracks.
You will be joining a vibrant, creative and experienced team in a key faculty. The Arts, Performance and Technology Faculty brings together Art, Music, Drama, PE and Technology, subjects enjoyed by students and integral to the life of Fitzharrys.
This is an exciting time to join us in our continued development. If you want to be part of a school with high aspirations for students and staff and want to contribute to each student achieving their ambitions, then we look forward to meeting you.
Please note that there is also a pastoral role advertised for a September start, if you are interested in this role too, then please see the school website.
