What skills and experience we're looking for

The College is looking to appointment a full time teacher of PE with the ability to also teach other subjects including Technology. The role has one and half days timetabled to deliver Primary PE as part of the Trusted Sports Alliance alongside a timetable in The Community College that covers KS3 and KS4 PE, KS3 Technology and KS3 English.

The ideal candidate will be an effective, flexible and innovative teacher, capable of inspiring students of all abilities, and able to teach at a range of key stages.

This is an exciting opportunity and would be suitable for an experienced teacher or an outstanding ECT/NQT who wants to work in a school focused on ensuring that all students achieve or exceed their potential.

What the school offers its staff

In 2023 our overall Attainment 8 score was 4.7 and a Progress 8 of +0.1. Students studying GCSE PE achieved 38% grade 5 and above and 7% grade 7 and above. The school has just started its first cohort on the Level 2 BTEC Sport course alongside the cohort completing the GCSE course.

The Community College Bishop’s Castle is a popular rural secondary school, which provides our community with good to outstanding development, learning and progress in a positive, pleasant learning environment. We were described by OFSTED as having a “committed staff team” that is “determined to create a positive learning culture”. All judgements were good.

Our well-behaved students respond positively to our hard-working and highly committed staff. They achieve well and leave the school with results that are above the national average. You will be joining the school at an exciting stage of its development.
