Teacher of PE (NQT opportunity) job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for an NQT to come and work with us in our PE team, developing their teaching practice and broadening their skills base. In return for working with our students, through years 7 to 11, teaching and coaching PE, we can provide you with a fixed term 2 year contract within our school. During this time, you will receive mentorship and coaching from our experienced PE Teachers as well as regular CPD which will provide you with valuable teaching experience to support you to progress through the early career framework and take the next step in your teaching career. This is a fixed term post due to the internal funding allocated to support the curriculum area.
Our school is located on a modern campus with purpose-built accommodation, offering spacious and excellent teaching and learning facilities. We currently have a roll of 980 students, growing to full capacity of over 1,000 in 2021. Isca Academy prides itself on providing high quality comprehensive education. Our students have a broad range of abilities and aspirations on entry, from able, gifted and talented to students needing more support with literacy and social skills. Our focus remains on every student in our school exceeding expectations, whatever their starting point. Beyond academic credentials, we firmly believe in the value of a more rounded education which promotes creativity, self-belief, resilience and confidence, and as such, offer an exceptional extra-curricular, personal development and outdoor education programme.
Our P.E. facilities are extensive, including a 400m grass athletics track, football/rugby fields, netball/tennis courts, AstroTurf pitch, a sports hall, multi-gym and dance studio. The P.E. curriculum includes a broad offer of sports including traditional sports such as football, netball, rugby and gymnastics as well as activities such as trampolining, fitness classes and ultimate Frisbee. The department also offers a vast extra-curricular programme after-school and these align with the termly curriculum offer. We would welcome the successful applicant contributing to the delivery of these.
