Essential Criteria
Qualification and Training • DES/DfES Qualified Status
PE/Sports Science graduate /appropriate qualification
Interest/experience in Netball and Athletics
Additional Sports Coaching qualification
Experience • Contributing to an extra curricular PE Programme.
• Ability to plan for the diverse needs of the students
• Experience of teaching GCSE PE (This is a compulsory subject for all students starting in Yr 9)
• Developing and maintaining good relationships with students, staff and parents
• Proven success in present post
• An excellent teacher in both Class based and Practical lessons
• Maintaining good behaviour and order in the classroom
• Use of assessments and tracking to raise achievement.
• Good record keeping
• A wide range of Sports Skills
Experience in GCSE Practical Moderation.
Clean driving licence
Experience of Driving a minibus
Skills, Knowledge and Aptitude
• Understand and support the ethos of this school
• Experience of being involved/organising teams for competition level and extra-curricular clubs/trips
• Experience of talent spotting potential in students and nurturing their talent via local club links.
• Ability to cope with the pressures of teaching and to maintain a sense of proportion and humour
• A positive and dynamic approach to teaching and learning, including ICT
• Creative/enthusiastic classroom and practical teacher with a propensity for hard work
• A commitment to equality of opportunity for all
• Committed to raising standards for all students you teach in order for them to reach their full potential.
• Record of very good attendance and punctuality
• Ability to work as a member of a team and to use your initiative
