Teacher of PE job summary
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to join a highly successful Physical Education department to work with young people who are able and thrive on challenge.
Due to the continuing popularity of our school, we are expanding our staffing profile in line with our increasing pupil numbers.
Our Physical Education team provide the best learning experience for pupils through high expectations, inspirational teaching and personalised support. Achievement in the department is good and GCSE results are competitive with national averages.
In Key Stage 3 pupils follow a Physical Education curriculum that focuses on the development of technical proficiency and tactical awareness in both individual sports and team games. The Key Stage 3 Physical Education curriculum also provides pupils with an insight into a range of theoretical concepts in order to enhance pupil understanding and foster a love of learning for the subject. In Key Stage 4 the Physical Education department delivers AQA GCSE PE and OCR Cambridge National in Sport Studies qualifications.
We very much welcome applications from candidates who are proficient in delivering GCSE theory content and are able to develop team games such as Rugby League and Basketball within the school.

The department currently consists of 4 full-time teachers, which will soon expand to 5. Teaching takes place in a brand new sports hall complete with a dance studio and fitness area, opened in 2018 and we have extensive playing fields surrounding the school site.
The successful candidate will be passionate about Physical Education, Sport, Health, Wellbeing and will be personally driven to ensure that every child realises their ambitions in this subject.
