Physical Education at Wilsthorpe has long been a driving force in the curriculum. The school has a deep belief in the importance of the subject and the opportunities it provides young people. PE teachers are very strong practitioners and many lead learning through ‘open classrooms’ and ‘teachmeets’. This is one reason results have been outstanding for several years. Students at KS4 have the opportunity to study GCSE PE, with a Level 3 qualification offered as part of our successful Post 16.

Facilities are enviable. Our new build in 2016 ensured state-of-the-art spaces and provision. We have newly built gymnasium with changing rooms, existing sports hall, fitness suite, newly built tennis and netball courts, a full sized astroturf pitch and extensive fields.

As you might have guessed, successes in competitions are numerous. Being Erewash District Athletics Champions and having strong links with local and national clubs, as well as a local and national credibility for building engagement amongst all participants, makes this an excellent school for a teacher to develop and further their career.

The role
We are currently seeking to appoint a dedicated male Teacher of PE to join an existing team at Wilsthorpe School. Within this role you will be welcomed in to our friendly and supportive faculty, led by highly professional practitioners, you will be responsible for delivering innovative lessons to our students to ensure they receive the very best teaching and learning experience. The post is only open to male teachers due to the supervision requirements within our male changing areas.
The person
The ideal candidate for this role will be a highly skilled with passion, enthusiasm and drive to deliver dynamic and challenging lessons. We are looking for a colleague with a love for teaching and who can show their commitment to student achievement in their subject area.
