Teacher of PE with Maths job summary

Are you an Early Career Teacher looking for your first teaching post?

We are seeking an inspirational Teacher of PE who is also interested in the opportunity to teach Maths. The successful candidate will be fully supported to deliver Maths lessons, which will be taught alongside PE (50/50 timetable). To be successful, you will not need to be trained specifically to teach Maths; you will just have a positive outlook on learning on the job to teach Maths. We think this is an excellent opportunity for an ECT to gain valuable experience in a great school.

We are looking for an individual with the initiative, drive and determination for our creative and evolving curriculum, who builds excellent relationships with students and inspires them in their learning. Candidates should be able to demonstrate a positive and creative approach to teaching and be willing to promote and contribute to the full range of extra-curricular activities.

We offer an exceptional development programme with support which goes beyond the ECT years, and we welcome applications from candidates with all levels of experience.

About us

Here at Esher High School, we are an oversubscribed, high-performing School. We aim to equip our students with the skills to grow into confident, ambitious and responsible citizens ready to face the challenges of the adult world. Our staff are passionate about seeing young people succeed in their subject. Our students’ results at KS4 have been consistently improving with the progress of our students being consistently above the national average.

In return

A comprehensive induction programme is provided for all new staff. We are committed to continual professional development, including access to peer coaching and bespoke personalised training.

Further benefits include a two-week autumn half-term break, a wide range of bespoke professional development opportunities, free gym use and ample on-site parking.

If you share our vision based on the unshakeable belief that children learn through all aspects of their daily lives and that their values and knowledge, experiences and habits are as important as their academic qualifications, we would be delighted to hear from you.

For further details on how to apply, please refer to the attached Recruitment Pack.

Closing date: 8.00 am on Monday 27 June 2022.
Interview date: Friday 1 July 2022.

We welcome early applications and will consider holding interviews and appointing before the closing date for strong candidates.

Shortlisted applicants will be asked to complete a self-declaration of their criminal record or information that would make them unsuitable to work with children. It is an offence to apply for a role if applicants are barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children. This school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff to share this commitment. Please visit https://www.esherhigh.surrey.sch.uk/page/?title=Policies+%26amp%3B+Documents&pid=23 for further information regarding our Child Protection & Safeguarding policy.
