An exciting opportunity has arisen for an outstanding Teacher of Performing Arts at RoydsHall. The successful candidate should bean inspirational teacher and a strong practitioner; a committed and motivated individualwho can inspire others to raise aspirations, through offering an exciting and ambitiouscurriculum.
As a Teacher of Performing Arts, you will help to engage and enthuse learners of all abilitiesin this creative subject specialism through Drama, Music and Movement. At Royds Hall, wewant all our students to enjoy a broad, balanced and exciting curriculum and for them tobecome confident, independent learners. We want our staff to feel supported and inspiredto achieve their personal best.
As a Teacher of Performing Arts, you will be required to meet the general requirements ofthis post. In addition, you will be required to fulfil any reasonable expectations from theHeadteacher.
The post will require you to work in partnership with the Headteacher, Senior Leadership
Team, governors and staff to ensure the continuous improvement of the school.
This role may also require the post holder to work in other school settings under thedirection of the Headteacher.

Essential criteria:
- Qualified Teacher Status.
- Degree or equivalent.
- Evidence of continuing professional development and a willingness to undertake further development as appropriate.
- Evidence of/potential to become an excellent classroom practitioner, capable of inspiring pupils and forming good relationships with colleagues.
- Ability to inspire and motivate pupils.
- Ability to play a music instrument or a willingness to learn.
- An ability to engage and enthuse learners of all abilities in this creative subject specialism through Drama, Music and Movement.
- Able to analyse data with a view to developing strategies to improve performance.
- Ability to monitor and evaluate impact of interventions and strategies.
- Detailed knowledge of current developments in subject area.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Excellent behaviour management skills.
- Commitment to the safeguarding of young people.
- Highly competent in ICT and the use of computers.
• Is willing to work flexibly withinscope of overall hours, e.g., evening meetings.

We also offer pupils a wealth of extended learning opportunities from Royds Hall Scholars, Duke of Edinburgh, debating society, and Steam Lab to knitting for fun. The PE department supports our pupils in representing the school in a wide range of sports, including basketball, netball, and athletics. We take part in the annual Speakers' Trust event and have been successful in reaching the final in recent years. Pupils gain from a wealth of opportunities offered, including leadership opportunities in every year group. In 2023, 100% of pupils took part in an extended learning opportunity. A strong belief exists that offering a wide range of extended learning opportunities ignites pupil interests and allows them to uncover skills and abilities that support their sense of achievement and happiness in school and into adulthood.
