We are seeking to appoint an inspirational Teacher of Performing Arts with a specialism in Dance or Drama. The successful candidate will join the school’s highly successful and enthusiastic Performing Arts department working and collaborating with an exceptionally dedicated and talented team of practitioners.

  • An excellent classroom practitioner
  • Somebody who is well-organised, proactive and able to work effectively as part of a team
  • Somebody who works well with staff and pupils alike
  • Strong classroom management skills
  • Knowledge of and a specialism in Dance or Drama
  • Someone keen to make a difference to the lives of young people
  • Someone keen to support the further development of the extra-curricular opportunities that the Performing Arts department offer
  • Someone looking to join a community that works to develop young people into successful citizens
  • Someone ready to work with young people both in lessons and as a tutor

What the school offers its staff

The Performing Arts department at Fulston Manor School consists of a strong team in a well-resourced Performing Arts block, that has IT access and a range of musical instruments for practical lessons. The team offer a range of opportunities to students within the Performing Arts remit, including one to one tuition, Primary School Outreach, performances throughout the year, European Musical Tours – all of which are well attended by our students.

The department delivers a Performing Arts curriculum at Key Stage 3 (details can be found on our website) but branches into specialist disciplines at Key Stage 4, with Music, Dance and Drama on offer as discrete GCSE subjects. At a Post-16 level students opt for Music or Performing Arts.
