Job summary
Collingwood College is looking to appoint an outstanding teacher of Philosophy, Religion and Culture to join our well-resourced and friendly team. This role will involve teaching a mix of KS3 & KS4 Classes with the possibility to teach Psychology at KS4
We are a flourishing Philosophy, Religion and Culture Department, that endeavours to ensure students find Philosophy a stimulating, enjoyable and highly relevant subject. The Department helps students to develop confidence in their Philosophical ability to meet new challenges and succeed. We have high expectations of all students and are focused on helping them achieve their very best, in classwork, homework, school examinations and public examinations. The Department provides pupils with a rich variety of lessons and a broad range of opportunities to extend their learning. We continually explores new and interesting ways to teach the subject, in order to engage pupils at every level and ensure all reach their full potential.
The post will appeal to recently qualified or experienced teachers and those who are looking to return to teaching after a career break. You will be an outstanding practitioner who can deliver inspiring and stimulating lessons to engage and lead students to think about religion and culture in a critical, philosophical way, giving them the tools needed to approach the big spiritual and moral issues in the world today.
This is a temporary post, initially for one academic year.
