Our aim is to provide the best possible care and education that we can for children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Here at Springwell, we place a huge emphasis on professional development and choose to invest significantly in staff training at all levels. This means that, although experience of working in an SEMH setting would be an advantage, specialist support and training will be provided for outstanding teachers wishing to make the career fulfilling move into special education.
Further details about the role
Springwell Leeds Academy requires an exceptional, versatile teacher of Physical Education who is passionate about providing the best possible education and sporting experience for vulnerable students. This post will involve teaching PE up to GCSE level, or other suitable qualification, as well as delivering an exciting stimulating programme of study to younger students. Significant training, time and support is given to ensure that staff are confident in delivering high quality learning. All of our sites operate in line with best practise in an SEMH provision, which is a nurturing type curriculum model with significant investment in therapeutic and wrap around support for our students.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to join our Academy with facilities of an external full size 3G Astro Turf football pitch, fully equipped sports hall and a fitness studio. Whilst you would be the only PE teacher on site, you would work closely as part of a team with the other PE teachers across our other sites. As you will be teaching both male and female students alongside support staff who can also monitor the changing rooms, this post is suitable for either male of female staff.
