What skills and experience we're looking for

Required for September 2024 for one term in the first instance

The Bewdley School is seeking an exceptional teacher of physical education to consolidate our curriculum offer. Whilst this is a one term appointment in the first instance, it may become available as a permanent role, depending upon other appointments within the department. This opportunity is suitable for a new entrant to the profession or an experienced teacher. We currently offer PE at GCSE, BTEC and A level, and a wide range of extra-curricular activities. The successful candidate will work collaboratively alongside a dedicated specialist team and the school will offer outstanding support and guidance.

We seek a colleague who has:

  • Exceptional energy and enthusiasm
  • A real depth of understanding of, and love for, their subject
  • A sophisticated grasp of how children learn
  • The optimism to imagine a better future

What the school offers its staff

In return we offer:

  • Students who are genuinely curious
  • A welcoming, friendly and supportive culture
  • Opportunities for personal development
  • A commitment to rational and balanced leadership

The Bewdley School, serving the Georgian town of Bewdley and on the banks of the River Severn, is a fully inclusive and comprehensive school. Our large site is open and in the midst of countryside, with almost limitless opportunities for outdoor activity. Students are hungry to learn, reflected through their engagement with a broad and diverse range of opportunities. Whilst outcomes are obviously important, it is the richness and quality of learning experiences that are at the heart of the school’s ethos and culture.

Commitment to safeguarding

This school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful candidate will undertake an Enhanced Disclosure via the DBS, where appropriate.
