Teacher of Physical (Girls) job summary
Do you want to join an enthusiastic, talented and forward-thinking department whose vision is to be outstanding both within the curriculum and on the sports field? If so, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a teacher of Girls PE at this “outstanding Catholic school”. A willingness/ability to teach a second subject, preferably Science/Social Science, would be desirable although other subjects could be considered. The key thing is that we are looking to employ an excellent PE teacher who is adaptable.
St Wilfrid’s is growing in size, from 5 forms of entry (FE) to 6. To begin with, the timetable for the successful candidate would be approximately 60% PE, 40% other but as we move to being a full 6FE school, the amount of PE will undoubtedly rise in the future.
This is a great school, one where everyone is valued and supported to be the best they can be (both students and staff). Please click on this link to get a flavour of St Wilfrid’s: https://youtu.be/rak_vR7U2Tc.
This is a school that wants to be the very best it can be. Do you want to be part of that? This post would be ideal for an NQT, or for anyone who wants to join a school where there may be future opportunities for progression. A TLR may be available for the right candidate. You do not need to be a Catholic to work here, indeed many of our staff are not, but a willingness to embrace the ethos of the school is expected.
The strength of community at St Wilfrid’s is a strong one based upon mutual respect. The staff work incredibly hard and are prepared to go the extra mile for the students in their charge. Our students are amazing and they contribute enormously to making the school such a welcoming and productive place. Our most recent Section 48 Diocesan Report (October 2017) and our Ofsted Report (January 2018) certainly reinforce this aspect of school life. All potential applicants are invited and encouraged to arrange a visit – we firmly believe you won’t be disappointed.
St Wilfrid’s is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Any successful applicant will be required to undertake a DBS check at an Enhanced level.
