Sponne is a successful, over-subscribed community comprehensive school with 1418 students aged 11-18 on roll and specialist status for Science and Music. Outcomes are very high with 78% of students gaining grades 9-4 in English and Mathematics at GCSE and a positive Progress 8 score.
We are seeking to appoint an inspirational teacher of Physics within our outstanding Science faculty with effect from September 2021.The successful candidate will, ideally, have experience and a proven record of achieving high outcomes in the teaching of GCSE Physics and preferably A level. They will have excellent interpersonal skills and, together with the other Science teachers, maintain a relentless focus on teaching and learning and raising achievement. The role is suitable for NQTs and experienced colleagues.
All students in years 7 to 11 study Science with more than 25% completing the three separate Sciences at GCSE. Physics outcomes are high and the subject is very popular at A level. The faculty is friendly and supportive with excellent facilities. Students are enthusiastic, hardworking and grateful for the education and opportunities they receive.
The successful candidate will:
· Have Qualified Teacher Status
· Physics as their Specialism
· Have good teaching skills
· Have to meet the person specification and will be required to apply for a DBS disclosure.
· Must have eligibility to live and work in the UK
Training and development opportunities will be offered. All staff are encouraged to study further and the school will actively support staff to obtain relevant further qualifications where possible.
