What skills and experience we're looking for
What the school offers its staff
We are seeking to appoint a Primary teacher, preferably with experience working in Early Years Foundation Stage, on a fixed term contract until 31 August 2024. The successful applicant will be working as part of a small, friendly department of the school, where our pupils are valued and in which they thrive. Our nurturing environment is incredibly important to us and we work with pupils and staff to develop and enhance their wellbeing. We pride ourselves on providing excellent support for all our pupils.
We have lots of fantastic facilities for our children. Our grounds include a large field, a primary playground, large EYFS outside areas, grassed and astro-turfed playing spaces, access to two large hall spaces and a forest school area. Inside we have a sensory room and soft play area and spacious classrooms.
We believe in enhancing our curriculum with events and activities, including impact days and external visits.
You will have the opportunity to work in this unique Specialist Provision. The School has a strong ethos with clear vision and values with an emphasis on ‘be your best self’ for both pupils and staff.
Commitment to safeguarding
Exhall Grange is deeply committed to safeguarding our pupils and, as part of our pre-employment processes, we undertake online searches of all shortlisted candidates in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education.
A prohibition from teaching check will be completed for all applicants of teaching roles who may undertake teaching work.

Exhall Grange Specialist School is a county-wide specialist provision for pupils aged between 4 and 19 on the outskirts of Coventry. The school meets the needs of pupils who are unable to access the curriculum in a mainstream school owing to their sensory impairment or physical disabilities or the impact of long-term illness or social communication difficulties including autism.
Many of our children and young people are physically or emotionally extremely vulnerable or have life limiting conditions. Some of our pupils are highly anxious and require our calm, predictable and nurturing environment in order to access school.
We are committed to ensuring all our pupils reach their full potential and encourage all of our pupils and staff to “Be Your Best Self” which encapsulates our core purpose.
All pupils follow the National Curriculum at a level appropriate to their ability and needs. We are destination driven and focus on developing the skills our pupils need for independence, employment and life.
We encourage our pupils to develop the qualities of our school values: Respect, Resilience, Confidence, Motivation, Aspiration and Integrity. This is as important to us as the academic and vocational curriculum.
