What skills and experience we're looking for

A-level experience is not essential and the College values the experience and knowledge teachers can bring from a secondary school environment. We also welcome applications from early career teachers to whom a full ECT programme is offered, in the same way as schools: this means you will be fully qualified to advance your future career.

Most importantly, the person appointed must be willing to:

  • bring imaginative and varied approaches to their teaching;
  • work as a member of a team, sharing ideas and resources;
  • develop relationships with students based upon equality, respect, joy and high aspirations

What the school offers its staff

We are extremely proud of our students’ achievements and we have a strong ethos of ambition and aspiration which runs through all aspects of College life. Colleagues are recognised for their hard work and we offer a wide range of benefits such as a free onsite car park, coffee shops, Christmas closure period, a significantly enhanced occupational pension scheme plus many more.

Commitment to safeguarding

Our organisation is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. We expect all staff, volunteers and trustees to share this commitment.

Our recruitment process follows the keeping children safe in education guidance.

Offers of employment may be subject to the following checks (where relevant):
childcare disqualification
Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS)
medical
online and social media
prohibition from teaching
right to work
satisfactory references
suitability to work with children

You must tell us about any unspent conviction, cautions, reprimands or warnings under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975.
