Teacher of Psychology job summary
Psychology is a popular subject at A-level, with many students continuing to follow their interest in the subject, and study it at degree level. Currently, the Psychology department in Avanti House School consists of one member of staff, and due to the popularity of the subject, we would like to expand the team.
The potential candidate for this position will share the Avanti way ethos, and help nurture the pillars of academic excellence, character development and spiritual insight, whilst nurturing our students’ love of the subject and achieving the best outcomes for them. We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Teacher of Psychology. The successful candidate will teach Key Stage 5: Year 12 and Year 13 students. Ideally the successful candidate will have experience of teaching the AQA specification for Psychology. There is some flexibility with regards the hours worked (full or part time considered). This is currently a fixed-term contract ending July 2022, however there is a possibility of it becoming a permanent position. Whether you are an experienced teacher looking for flexibility, or an NQT looking to professionally develop your skills – this role would be suitable for you. An ability to offer a second subject would be welcome.
Avanti House is a secondary school 11-19 school that opened in 2012. Currently there are 1144 students with a Sixth Form of Year 12 & 13. Avanti schools are Hindu-designated faith schools. However, all staff members at Avanti House School will not be required to present themselves from any specific faith background and there will be no preference given in this regard. This is an exciting time to join the school as it continues its journey to outstanding.
