Teacher of Psychology job summary
We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and well qualified teacher of Psychology to start in January 2022. You should be passionate about your subject and dedicated to ensuring all students are encouraged and motivated to reach their goals.
Psychology is a popular subject for our Sixth Form students and we currently have two teaching classes in both Year 12 and 13.
Our Psychology, Law and Health and Social Care Key Stage 5 teachers work very closely together and are line managed by our Director of Post 16 Studies.
This post will be paid in line with STPCD and is suitable for ECTs.

Caldew School is a popular, rural 11-18 mixed comprehensive school situated south of the city of Carlisle with a catchment area that extends to the fringe of the Lake District. We have 1000 pupils on roll including a Sixth Form of 160. The school is heavily over-subscribed and the roll is steady.
We have a good and improving track record of achievement at all examination levels, good resources and facilities and a rich programme of visits and extra-curricular activities.
Our Ofsted inspection in June 2018 graded Caldew as ‘requires improvement’. However the inspection team noted that significant improvements had been made over the past two years and we are not complacent and we know that there areas where we need to do better.
