Teacher of Psychology & Sociology, Maternity Cover job summary

(please note this vacancy is an amendment to an earlier advert for a Teacher of Psychology, Maternity Cover dated November 2019; the closing date has been extended)

Biddenham International School is a thriving, inclusive, multi-cultural, 11-19 school of 1200 students which is rated ‘Good’ in all areas by Ofsted in March 2019. The school has a student centred focus and chromebooks are used by all students to support daily learning.

Biddenham is a school with high expectations and a clear improvement strategy for continuing to raise attainment and is working towards becoming an outstanding school. Candidates must possess the skills and determination to make a significant difference to the lives of our students and share our goal of ‘Opening Minds, Transforming Lives’.

To start February 2020, or earlier if possible, we are seeking to appoint a well qualified, enthusiastic and engaging professional who would be able to offer A Level studies primarily, alongside a GCSE curriculum delivered as a one year course to Year 12 students. The Psychology & Sociology departments work collaboratively to provide high standards of learning and teaching for every student. The ability to teach a additional humanities subject at KS4 and KS5 would be an advantage and can be discussed at interview.

This exciting post will involve teaching across year groups and help the drive to further improve an excellent curriculum for our students.

The successful candidate must:
▪ have a passion for teaching Psychology & Sociology
▪ be dedicated to improving the learning outcomes of all students
▪ be creative and innovative
▪ be able to inspire young people

Applications are welcome from NQTs and experienced practitioners and visits to the school are most welcome. We look forward to meeting you.

Closing date: 8th December 2019. We reserve the right to close any vacancy and appoint earlier than the stated closing date should there be a good response to the advert. (please note this vacancy is an amendment to an earlier advert for a Teacher of Psychology, Maternity Cover dated November 2019; the closing date has been extended)
