Teacher of Psychology (MPR) Maternity Cover job summary

Join a leading school which prides itself on the high quality of education, enrichment and care provided to all and is committed to the wellbeing of students and staff.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint a well-qualified and inspirational teacher of psychology who is committed to the highest standards of learning, teaching and achievement. This is an exciting opportunity to teach psychology and progress your career in a school judged by Ofsted as ‘outstanding’. There may be the requirement to teach a small amount of year 12 sociology. This post is required from September 2021 and until the return of the maternity leaver, which is likely to be a full academic year.

The successful candidate will also have very high expectations and an unwavering commitment to all students maximising their potential through outstanding learning, teaching and support.

We are a fantastic learning community, set in one of Yorkshire’s most scenic areas, whose facilities have recently been enhanced by the completion of a multi-million-pound refurbishment and expansion project. Our Ofsted inspection of March 2017 confirmed us as an ‘Outstanding’ school in all areas, where students “attain highly and make excellent progress”, where behaviour is “exemplary” and where “teachers go the extra mile to make sure students achieve, feel cared for and thrive within a supportive and productive learning environment”. Since Ofsted’s highly positive endorsement, the school has continued to go from strength to strength with progress in 2019 well above average and in the top 10% of all schools nationally.

If you have the ability to engage and enthuse our students with a love of Psychology, coupled with drive and expertise and a commitment to further raising standards, then we would like to hear from you. We warmly welcome applications from Early Career Teachers.
