Teacher of Psychology job summary
Required for September 2021. The Governors of this outstanding, high achieving and oversubscribed Catholic Voluntary Academy seek to appoint a highly qualified, experienced and dynamic KS5 Teacher of Psychology. The successful applicant will join a forward-thinking and high-achieving department and be committed to delivering genuinely imaginative, engaging and varied lessons. This appointment provides the opportunity to teach well-motivated, hard-working and high achieving pupils in the Sixth Form. Psychology is a very popular subject within the sixth form which the students truly enjoy, and has a strong record of academic achievement delivering excellent outcomes. It is not taught in KS4 and so is a new opportunity for St Mary’s students joining the sixth form. The subject sits within the PE faculty.
St. Mary’s is a popular and highly successful school situated on the North West fringe of Leeds, close to the Yorkshire Dales. The school is part of the Bishop Wheeler Catholic Academy Trust which consists of the high school and 9 primary schools. The July 2019 Section 48 inspection and November 2014 Ofsted inspection judged St Mary’s as an outstanding school. We became a Teaching School in October 2015 and a National Support School in September 2017.
