What skills and experience we're looking for

The governors and principal of Hope Academy are welcoming applications for an enthusiastic Teacher of RE to join our team.

The successful candidate will join a talented and dedicated team, who are determined to provide the best quality teaching and support for every student through our commitment to maintaining high standards in line with our core values.

As a Teacher of RE, you will be expected to teach RE to the full age and ability range across KS3 and KS4. You will be part of a friendly and dedicated department who hold high expectations for all students and work tirelessly to raise attainment and achievement.

What the school offers its staff

Hope Academy is a mixed academy secondary school for pupils aged 11-16. It is a joint Church of England / Catholic school.

The school was formed after a merger of Newton-le-Willows Community High School and St Aelreds Catholic Technology College. The Academy is part of the All Saints Multi Academy Trust. All Saints Multi Academy Trust is a joint Church of England and Catholic Academy trust, making it incredibly unique. The trust comprises of four secondary schools and one primary school, with five primary schools set to transfer into the trust before the end of the academic year. There is a trust wide commitment to improve, accelerate and enable ambitious life goals amongst all young people in their academies.

Hope Academy is situated on a main road, 2 minutes from J23 M6 and 5 minutes from J9 M62, with plentiful buses and within easy access of Manchester and Liverpool; it is approximately 10 minutes’ walk from Newton-le-Willows train station.

Applicants will be required to undergo safeguarding checks appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the Trust is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions (including those which are "spent" unless they are "protected" under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children.
