The Role:
We are looking for a talented and driven Teacher of RE/PSHE to join our growing Humanities Faculty. We are looking for a Teacher who is ready for a new challenge to develop their teaching ability.
The school is looking to enhance and develop pupils’ understanding of the fundamental British values and their spiritual, moral, social and cultural development through outstanding delivery of RE and PSHE. At Key Stage 3 pupils are taught one hour a week of RE and 45 minutes of PSHE through tutor time. At Key Stage 4 students are taught 1 hour 45 minutes per week of a combination of R.E and PSHE through a comprehensive programme of study. The Humanities Faculty is a well-resourced department which is supportive of new teachers as well as each other and always keen to share best practice.
The Person:
The Headteacher is looking to appoint an enthusiastic, determined and passionate RE/PSHE Teacher to add to their strong Humanities department. RE/PSHE is an extremely important subject in this Academy, which is encouraged by the staff and pupils’ positive approach towards it. You must be a teacher who has achieved ‘good’ or better in recent observations. The Academy is looking for someone who thrives when in the classroom but can also provide exciting practical lessons outside of the classroom and has a real drive to make a difference to children’s life chances. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, resourceful and keen to ensure that the highest possible standards of pupil achievement, personal development and well-being are achieved. The post would equally suit a confident and ambitious NQT or an experienced teacher with excellent subject knowledge, a willingness to learn and a passion for teaching.
