Teacher of Reading job summary

 We are looking to appoint teachers to deliver reading programmes to our secondary school pupils in Year 7-10 who are currently behind age related expectations. This is not simply to address the potential lost learning that the pandemic has caused, but rather a more fundamental shift in how we resource and provide expert teaching to our pupils who need to make quick gains in their reading proficiency. 

 

The appointed teachers will deliver the ‘Read Write Inc: Fresh Start’ programme to small groups of pupils from Year 7 to 10 throughout the week. We hope that through these appointments many pupils will be able to make really quick gains in their reading proficiency and graduate from the programme swiftly. 

 

We invite applications from both primary and secondary trained teachers who share our ambition to make sure that all pupils can read proficiently to be able to access all aspects of a knowledge-rich curriculum, to not only be successful but to attain core skills for their lifetime.
