What skills and experience we're looking for
Required for January 2024, the Governors of this high achieving, oversubscribed Catholic Voluntary Academy seek to appoint an inspiring, enthusiastic, motivated and well qualified graduate teacher to teach Religious Education. ECT’s and trainee teachers are welcome to apply.
Religious Education is central to the life of the school and is taught across all key stages and ability ranges. The Catholic ethos of the school is very important and is supported by all staff, feeder primary schools and local parishes.
This appointment provides the opportunity to teach well-motivated, hard-working pupils. You will join a forward-thinking and high-achieving department and be committed to delivering genuinely imaginative, engaging and varied lessons. This is an opportunity to take the subject in a new and exciting direction.
We are looking for an outstanding and proactive Religious Education Teacher, committed to high standards and expected to teach RE at key stages 3 and 4, with the ability to teach RE at A level. As a committed team player, you will have excellent organisational skills and the natural ability to motivate pupils with a passion for making a difference to the lives of young people.

The school is part of the Bishop Wheeler Catholic Academy Trust which consists of two high schools and 11 primary schools. The November 2014 Ofsted inspection and the June 2019 Section 48 inspection both judged St Mary’s as an outstanding school.
