Pontefract Academies Trust is a cross phase Multi Academy Trust comprising of eight schools, six primaries and two 11 – 16 secondary schools. The Trust is a medium sized family of schools all located within a tight geographic hub within Pontefract. Pupils are drawn from the local community that includes a mix of different catchment areas.

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, hardworking and committed teacher of Religious Education to The King’s School, starting in September 2021. You will teach Ethics and Character to KS3, an exciting newly introduced subject which covers the religious, RSE, social and wellbeing elements of the school curriculum. The subject is lead through a well-established and experienced History and Social Sciences Curriculum Leader. At key stage 4 the curriculum has been reformed to be more focused on Religious Studies. Year 10 will be the first GCSE Religious Studies only key stage 4 cohort whilst year 11 will have GCSE Citizenship and GCSE Religious Studies in its offer.

This is a permanent, 1 FTE contract.

Interviews are scheduled to take place week commencing 24th May 2021.

The King’s School is an 11-16 school with a long history being founded in 1139 making it one of the four oldest schools in Yorkshire. The school converted to academy status in 2013 and has planned admission number of 210 pupils in each year group.
