As a Headteacher I believe that working in a school should afford staff the professional responsibility to do their jobs well free from a dictated model of Teaching and learning. Head of Subjects have autonomy to run a curriculum and assessment model that suits their subject and context and, aside from the principles of great T&L, we do not dictate how you teach. Instead, we seek to develop teachers who flourish and enjoy their role, finding job satisfaction in their craft and the impact that they can have.
The Religious Studies Department is an integral part of our vibrant Humanities faculty, fostering a passion for learning and critical thinking across the disciplines. Students benefit from equal emphasis on all subjects at both Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, with the majority of lessons taught by specialists dedicated to their field. Our team is supportive, ambitious, and committed to inspiring excellence, contributing to the faculty’s strong record of academic success at KS4. Collaboration is at the heart of our approach, ensuring that students are actively engaged, challenged, and equipped to become independent, reflective learners.
