Teacher of Religious Studies job summary

Required for September 2022 or January 2023

We are seeking to appoint a candidate who is passionate about Religious Studies; a team player who will thrive on collaboration and team work; someone who really wants to make a difference! We are primarily looking for an applicant who can teach Religious Studies at KS3 and 4, although we are able to offer KS5 teaching. There may be a requirement to teach the other Humanities subjects of History and Geography at KS3 and we may be able to offer A Level Politics or Sociology for an interested candidate.

Why come to Latimer? This is a fantastic school to work in: as a result of our success and popularity we are over-subscribed and have a very strong positive reputation. On interview we ask candidates for their impressions of the College and without fail they comment on how wonderful our students are, the supportive team ethos amongst staff and how friendly and welcoming the College is.

We are a tight-knit unit striving for the very best for our students and we are focussed on and passionate about learning.

We genuinely care about our staff, their well-being and their professional development: we are a happy team, committed to working collaboratively and sharing the very best practice and, amongst other things, we can offer:

 A laptop for every teacher
 Timetabled Work from Home (WFH) sessions
 Regular staff well-being activities
 Free access to our sporting facilities
 Free flu jab organised through a local pharmacy

Together we share one key aim: to secure outstanding achievements for each individual by delivering excellence in all that we do. We are very proud of our students and to us, every child really does matter: we work tirelessly to make sure that each of our students feels valued, makes progress and achieves personal success so that they can be the best that they can be! And we are fulfilling our commitment this! For prospective new staff, this is an exciting time to be joining the College and contributing to its future success. We strongly value inclusivity and meeting the needs of individuals: we have a dedicated Student Support Team offering additional well-being support to those who need it. As a Performing Arts College our commitment to the arts is strong and there is always something stunning going on in our Masque Theatre: you might see a rehearsal, stumble across an impromptu performance in the foyer or be part of the audience at an evening concert. Expect the unexpected and the amazing - because that is what you will get! We value the contributions that our staff make to student outcomes and support them with being able to meet our high expectations through a co-ordinated performance management system for both teaching and non-teaching staff, with professional development at its heart.
