What skills and experience we're looking for

Yateley School is excited to announce a fantastic opportunity for a dynamic and highly motivated individual to join our Religious Studies department starting from September 2024. Religious Studies is a popular subject choice in both KS3 and KS4. Our department is celebrated for its popularity and success, consistently achieving excellent results. Notably, many students opt to continue their studies at GCSE and A level.

We are seeking a dedicated teacher with exceptional subject knowledge and a passion for imparting that knowledge to young people. The successful candidate will contribute to the dynamic and successful environment of our Religious Studies department.

Students in our program enjoy engaging in a diverse array of trips and visits, including local visits to places of worship, as well as excursions to London and abroad.

If you are enthusiastic about Religious Studies, possess excellent subject knowledge, and are eager to inspire young learners, we encourage you to apply.

What the school offers its staff

You will be joining a friendly, professional and supportive organisation that is completely committed to securing the best academic and personal development outcomes for our young people and provides excellent professional development for staff. Yateley School is a large and highly accomplished centre of excellence, firmly rooted in its local community. Examination results are exemplary and compare favourably with other schools, both locally and nationally at GCSE and A Level. We are a cohesive and ambitious school, excited about the future of education and determined to develop. If you are a committed, resilient and creative person, capable of making a positive contribution to our school and inspire both students and staff, then this could be the post for you. The successful candidate will share the ambitions, ethos and values of Yateley School.

Benefits of working at Yateley:

  • Very friendly and supportive small team with a passion and love of RS.
  • Excellent record of A level and GCSE results.
  • 2 year KS4 that follows the Eduqas exam (Route A) - Christianity, Islam and Ethical Themes.
  • A diverse range of subjects taught at KS3 and KS4 including explorations of religions, philosophical units and moral and ethical components.
  • Well-resourced schemes of learning which are adapted and updated regularly to ensure subject knowledge is relevant and engaging for us and our students which are shared centrally with the team. Opportunities to develop CPD through curriculum meetings and workshops with the team as well as whole school twilights.
  • Opportunity to be involved in a wide range of trips and visits to places of worship to support the department.
