We are seeking to appoint an inspirational Teacher of Citizenship and RS with excellent subject knowledge. The successful candidate will join the school’s highly successful and enthusiastic department of Religious Studies and Ethics working and collaborating with an exceptionally dedicated and talented team of practitioners.

- Somebody who is well-organised, proactive and able to work effectively as part of a team

- Strong classroom management skills
- Knowledge of Citizenship at KS3 and KS4

Further details about the role
Citizenship and Religious Studies are popular courses that have been offered at Fulston for several years. The AQA GCSE course in Citizenship covers a range of topics from Life in Modern Britain, Politics and Rights to being an Active Citizen in our community. Students develop debating skills and are encouraged to become more aware of the society they live in. Citizenship is also taught at Key Stage 3 covering similar topics, allowing pupils to develop new skills whilst learning through projects addressing a wide range of global issues.
The AQA GCSE Religious Studies course covers both Christianity and Islam in addition to ethical topics including peace and conflict, relationships, crime and punishment and issues regarding life and death. At Key Stage 3 we cover the six main world religions as well as ethical issues.
We also teach PSHE/RSE as part of our discrete Personal Development Curriculum (PDC)at KS3 and KS4 and students develop an understanding of the life skills, personal health and social education they need to develop as young citizens.
