What the school offers its staff
The College is looking to appointment a teacher of Science. The ideal candidate will be an effective and innovative teacher, capable of inspiring students of all abilities, and able to teach key stage 3 and key stage 4. The ability to offer additional subject areas would be ideal. This is an exciting opportunity and would be suitable for an experienced teacher or an outstanding ECT/NQT who wants to work in a school focused on ensuring that all students achieve or exceed their potential.
In 2022 our overall Attainment 8 score was 5.5 and a Progress 8 of +0.44. Students studying Combined Science achieved 73% grade 4 and above; students studying Triple Sciences achieved between 35% and 58% grade 7 or above.
For comparison, in 2019 our overall Attainment 8 score was 5.2 and Progress 8 was +0.39. Students studying Combined Science achieved 56% grade 4 and above; students studying Triple Sciences achieved between 35% and 53% grade 7 or above.
The Community College Bishop’s Castle is a popular rural secondary school, which provides our community with good to outstanding development, learning and progress in a positive, pleasant learning environment.
