What skills and experience we're looking for
We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and inspirational Teacher of Science to join our team of highly committed scientists. Candidates must have the ability to teach science at Key Stage 3 & Key Stage 4, with Key Stage 5 being an advantage and Chemistry being the preferred specialism. Early Careers Teachers are welcome to apply and we offer a fully supported programme, including regular subject specific mentoring and whole school training. The successful candidate will be committed to ensuring excellent outcomes for every student.
Science is taught as a core subject at KS3 and KS4, with many students wishing to pursue the Separate Science (Triple Science) course at KS4. Science at KS5 is popular and Chemistry in particular, is traditionally the best performing Science.
The Science Faculty is comprised of a team of well-qualified specialists, with the support of 3 full time technicians. The faculty is housed in a purpose built science block, opened in November 2014, with 11 dedicated laboratories.
